Introduction To Sport and Fitness
Course Content
Throughout this course, learners are given the opportunity to build a wide range of vocational skills while boosting confidence and enhancing practical performance. SQA units will be delivered in various areas in sports performance and participation, outdoor pursuits, fitness, coaching and officiating, plus communication and meta-skills integrated within units.
Learners will be able to work with a host of external partners through placement opportunities within the course.
Entry Requirements
Suitable for a range of learners including school leavers or individuals with limited qualifications who wish to start their journey within Sports and Fitness. Applicants must outline their sporting interests and future career path in sport and/or fitness in their personal statement.
Interview process: 1-1 interview, practical assessment and a reference may be required. PVG scheme membership is a mandatory requirement for placement.
Method of Assessment
Variety of on-going assessments: practical performance assessment & coaching delivery, placement, written assignments & presentations.
Future Prospects
Successful completion could lead to Certificate in Coaching Sport & Fitness, Certificate in Uniformed Services or employment in the sport and fitness industry.
