Higher English
Course Content
This course develops valuable language skills through the study of non-fiction and literature. You will learn how to analyse and evaluate texts effectively, preparing you for course assessments and future academic or career aspirations.
Weekly evening classes at our Gardyne Campus (6-9 pm). Direct support from tutors, peer collaboration and a structured environment.

Entry Requirements
A pass at National 5 English at grade A or B (or equivalent) is expected. Applicants with a grade C may still be considered following a successful diagnostic test and/or interview.
Method of Assessment
All assessments including the prelim, final exam, and portfolio pieces, are conducted on campus.
Future Prospects
Higher English is a prerequisite for most teaching courses and PGDE programmes. It is highly regarded by employers and higher education providers and offers excellent opportunities for progression in education, training, and the workplace.
