Ann Gilbrath of SECTT with Kenney Findley, Dundee City Council and top first year apprentice, Ross Ballantyne.

Ross Ballantyne, a first year apprentice electrician, showed he was really plugged in when he took on his peers in the SECTT (Scottish Electrical Charitable Training Trust) Apprentice of the Year competition in Perth.

In what could be truly described as an electrifying performance, the 18-year-old surged through both practical installations and a written exam.

“Ross has shown plenty of commitment and worked really hard at his studies,” said D&A lecturer Marc Ferrar.

“He has proved to be one of the very best 1st year apprentices out of more than 555 currently in Scotland.”
