Marta Krakowiecka, who now operates 4xM Photography from the D&A Business Incubator, is staging ‘She’, an exhibition comprising portraits of women from 22 countries across the globe.

The former student persuaded the women, from Japan in the east to Spain in west but all now living in Dundee, to take part when she was undertaking course work while studying HNC photography.

Marta had a highly successful career as a student, taking runners-up spot two years running in the prestigious Scottish Nature Photography Awards – seeing her work hanging in Dundee’s central library as part of a related travelling exhibition.

Having proved herself as a top landscape photographer – Marta even waited hours for the light to be just right when she photographed the Ring of Brodgar on Orkney – the former student discovered just as many challenges when creating the portraits.

“Every single model is different so, even using the studio at D&A College, huge adjustments had to be made to camera settings,” said Marta.

“She” opened in the D&A Enterprise Suite at Gardyne Campus on Thursday, May 11 and runs for two weeks.
