Ayshea and Ian Robbie, of Arbroath, have been married for 12 years and since 2014 have both been studying at college.

Ian successfully completed an HND in interactive media and web development and Ayshea gained HNC beauty therapy.

Having been a full-time housewife Ayshea decided three years ago to take the challenge and learn new skills – despite still looking after three children, teenager Anais, who is 13, 10-year-old McKenzie and James (5).

“It was certainly a challenge, particularly finding time for course work, but one I am glad I faced up to,” said Ayshea.

And the challenge paid off with Ayshea landing a job in a beauty spa and clinic in Arbroath.

“I’m very proud of Ayshea,” said husband, Ian.

“Having screwed up her courage to come to college she then had to undergo spinal surgery just a couple of months before her course began, she’s my hero.”

Ian also decided that he wanted to follow a dream.

“I’ve always been fascinating by digital media so decided to come to college and try to build a career in this area.”

Having gained his HND, the former bus driver is now in the third year of BSc degree course.
