Liam Polde shows of the bronze medal and certificate he won at the CITB SkillBuild context.

Liam Polden, a first year apprentice with Angus company, Rob Ogston Joinery Ltd, screwed up his courage when he entered the CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) SkillBuild contest.

The Kirriemuir resident saw off much of the opposition to take bronze medal in the ‘new entrant’ class of the contest.

The 25-year-old was joined on the winners’ podium by fellow D&A trainees, Andrew Paterson who clinched third place in the ‘new entrant: carpentry’ class, and Ryan Ramsay who was pipped into Silver medal position as most improved apprentice.
