Applied Sciences Students try their hand at brewing

Our Certificate in Applied Sciences students recently created a buzz after they decided to try their hand at brewing beer and making cheese.

For many weeks, the students prepared and perfected their recipes. To help with their preparations, they visited a local brewery, 71 Brewing, to gain an understanding of the process and how it all works.

Once happy with their creations, their products were displayed at an exciting beer and cheese tasting event hosted at Kingsway, with the highest-scoring creation winning the coveted “Best in Brew” title.

Students and staff throughout the college came along to sample the different creations before voting for their favourite. At the end of the event, voting closed and the votes were counted with Blood of Kvasir and Cideroo emerging as joint winners.

It was a great event, and well done to all the students who participated.
