How to apply
All students (including continuing students) must apply online. It is important to fill in the ‘personal statement’ section in your application form in order for us to assess your application. The more you put on your personal statement the easier it is for us to make a decision on your application.
Once the application is submitted, you will receive an auto response requesting a copy of your academic and English certificates and passport (including the visa page and biometric card if you already have a visa to stay in the UK).
For certain courses, we request a criminal record check or a portfolio of art work. Also for Dance and Acting & Performance, a DVD is requested when a student cannot attend an audition in person.
You can use the ‘upload documents’ button to attach documents in your application or email copies of your academic certificates, IELTS, and the information pages of your passport to International email.
These documents are required for a decision to be made and you will be invited for a Skype interview if you meet the entry requirements.
We require an IELTs score of 5.5 minimum (which is CEFR B2 in all 4 categories) to start an HNC and HND course. There is no IELTS requirement for Short term study visa route for ESOL.
If an offer is made to you after the Skype interview, it will be conditional upon the receipt of a £6,500 full fee, copy of bank statement and the appropriate level of qualifications to meet individual course requirements.
Offer of a Place
Once the conditions are met you will be issued with an Unconditional offer by email. You must check your email and application account regularly. You have to accept this offer as well as request accommodation if necessary. If you do not accept the offer within 28 days the offer will be cancelled and offered to someone else.
Applying for a Visa
If you require a visa to study in the UK a Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS) number and statement or a visa invitation letter will be issued after you received an unconditional offer. This gives you a unique number from UKVI allowing an application for a visa to study at Dundee and Angus College only.
You must put your previous education history in the application form if you previously studied with another institution in the UK. You need to tell us this information in order to obtain a CAS statement. A CAS statement will only be issued to you where you can show progression in your studies.
You will be required to provide a copy of your bank statement to the College before we issue your CAS. The international team will check the date and the remaining balance on the statement is correct and it can be used in the visa application. You are responsible for making the application for a visa and meeting the financial evidence required by the UKVI.
Once you have been issued with a visa letter or CAS statement, you should advise Dundee and Angus College of your success or otherwise and also your arrival date in the UK. It is essential we know your arrival date in the UK and arrival date in Dundee.
