SVQ Level 4 Management - Care
Course Content
This is a work-based qualification and all evidence produced must be in relation to the individual's job role and responsibility. The award is made up of eight units, four of which are mandatory: Develop and implement operational plans for your area of responsibility; Provide leadership in your area of responsibility; Develop productive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders; Manage business processes. In addition to the above, four further units must be chosen from a number of optional units.
Entry Requirements
Individuals must be in employment for a minimum of 16 hours per week (paid or voluntary) with a minimum of 1 year's experience. The course will provide evidence of an individual's competency in all aspects of managing a care service. Candidates must have a sound understanding of The Health and Social Care Standards, Scottish Social Services Council Codes of Practice, Guidance and Frameworks, legislation and work place policies and procedures. Selection for the course will be by interview.
Method of Assessment
Reflective reports and observations within an e-portfolio.
Future Prospects
Recognised by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) for registration requirements.
