SVQ 4 Care Services Leadership and Management
Course Content
Equipping individuals with a range of knowledge, skills and values to enable them to take on the leadership and management challenges. Covering areas including: managing and developing yourself and your workforce within care services, leading and managing practice that promotes the safeguarding of individuals, health and safety in the work setting and effective communication systems and practice.
Entry Requirements
Aimed at care service employees in a management role. Applicants must be working for at least 16 hours per week (paid or voluntary) with a minimum of two years’ experience and have a sound understanding of The Health and Social Care Standards, Scottish Social Services Council Codes of Practice, Guidance and Frameworks, legislation and work place policies and procedures. Selection for the course will be by a written assignment.
Method of Assessment
Reflective reports and observations within an e-portfolio.
Future Prospects
This SVQ has been designed to meet the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registration requirements for care managers.
