SVQ Barbering at SCQF Level 6
Course Content
This course will enhance your knowledge and skills in Barbering to a high level of occupational ability. It will enable you to perform salon services and support others while providing a platform for your creativity and career progression within the industry.
At D&A Barber School, we provide exceptional facilities and experienced lecturers that increase your confidence and employment prospects. You will gain practical skills working with clients using professional products such as American Crew/Sebastian.
The course comprises practical classes and project work that will be delivered on campus for 2-3 days per week from 9 am to 5 pm. There is also a possibility of evening classes from 4:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
Entry Requirements
Successful completion of VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Barbering (or equivalent) or relevant industry experience. A satisfactory reference may be required. For applicants for whom English is not their first language then ESOL at SCQF level 5 is required as excellent communication skills are needed.
Method of Assessment
Online quizzes, assignments, and exams will take place throughout the course, and skills will be assessed by direct observation. Extensive research and self-study will also be required to complete this course.
You will study health and safety, client consultation, creative hair cutting, styling and colouring, providing shaving services, portfolio work in creating a collection and promoting products & services to clients. We will also cover marketing, IT and data handling and how to start your own business.

To gain employment as a Barber in a wide variety of industries.
