Modern Apprenticeship in Life Sciences and Related Industries (SCQF Level 7)

Course Content

This Modern Apprenticeship comprises three elements: an SVQ, an HNC in Applied Science and certification of Core Skills. The SVQs available allow learners to tailor the award to their specific workplace requirements. The SVQ is based on National Standards and consists of 2 mandatory units: Maintain Health and Safety Procedures in Life Sciences and Related Industries, and Maintain Effective and Efficient Working Relationships in Life Sciences and Related Industries. Entry Requirements

Applicants should be employed in a technical role within an industrial, educational or clinical setting. Learners will require a minimum of two Scottish Highers, one of which must be in a science subject. Other qualifications and work-based experience will be considered.

Method of Assessment

Assessments take place in the workplace. Learners will attend college one day a week to complete all units required for HN qualification and Core Skills.

Future Prospects

Successful completion of this course leads to a nationally recognised qualification.
