Course Content

Modern Apprenticeships offer learners aged over 16 paid employment combined with the opportunity to train for jobs at technician and management level. This qualification covers areas such as designing, constructing and operating a wide range of infrastructure projects including major structures, geology, highways and water resources.

Entry Requirements

The recruitment and selection of Modern Apprentices is primarily the responsibility of the employer. Employees may enter a Modern Apprenticeship from the age of 16. There is no upper age limit. Learners must be employed where they are carrying out relevant tasks and responsibilities, which allows them to gather the required evidence. Entry is at the discretion of the Curriculum & Quality Leader.

Method of Assessment

Work based evidence in the form of observations/witness testimonies/professional discussions. Learners must also complete HNC Quantity Surveying.

Future Prospects

Following completion of the Modern Apprenticeship, learners should be able to achieve positions in their area.
