Introduction to Beauty Therapy (VTCT Level 1 Diploma)

Course Content

Within the Level 1 diploma in beauty therapy, you will learn basic skills in a range of areas which prepare you well for progression into Level 2 beauty.

Training at D&A Beauty School will increase your confidence and employment prospects as we have an exceptional standard of facilities and experienced lecturers. By training with us, you will gain skills working on clients using professional products. 

This course is delivered on campus with practical classes and project work, covered over 2-3 days per week (9-5 pm) plus potential evening class (4:30-8:00pm).

Entry Requirements

To apply for this course you must have a keen interest in Beauty Therapy. Previous attainment of a Level 1 part-time qualification (Senior Phase SCQF 4) in Beauty Therapy and/or relevant industry experience is desirable. Two National 4, NPAs or equivalent qualifications are required. A satisfactory reference may be required, a good level of ICT competency and for applicants where English is not your first language then ESOL at SCQF Level 5 is required as excellent communication skills are needed. You may be invited to a group information session.

Method of Assessment

Assignments, and exams will take place throughout the course and skills are assessed by direct observation. Research and self-study will also be required to successfully complete his course. 

You will study Basic Manicure and Pedicure Techniques; Skincare Treatments, Basic Day Make-Up Application, Nail Art and many more. You will enhance your skills in client care, health and safety procedures and develop skills in working within a salon.

Future Prospects

Progression onto VTCT level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Studies.
