NPA Award in Construction: Carpentry and Joinery
Course Content
This nationally recognised course covers: Bench Joinery Skills; Manufacturing Joinery Components; Constructional Carpentry Skills; Construction Safety; and Employment Behavioural Skills. This will also include core skills in Communication, ICT and Construction Numeracy. All units within the course must be achieved to gain certification. This may include an element of online learning.
Entry Requirements
Successful completion of Building Trades Fast Track or Gateway to Trade Skills (Construction) @ SCQF Level 4 course, or two passes at National 5 (or equivalent) one NAT 5 to be in English or Maths
All applicants will require a satisfactory interview which may include a diagnostic test.
Method of Assessment
Practical assessments and theoretical knowledge-based assessment.
Future Prospects
Successful completion of the course can lead to apprenticeships in carpentry and joinery or further education (Built Environment/Construction related courses).
