Course Content

The course covers an Introduction into Joinery; Bricklaying; Painting and Decorating; Plastering; Roofing; Internal/External Cement Work; Electrical; Understanding Industry; and Personal Development.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements; however, all applicants will be interviewed and must demonstrate commitment and motivation. This may include an element of online learning.

All applicants will require a satisfactory interview, including a diagnostic test.

Method of Assessment

Continuous assessment, practical based assessments and end of unit tests/assessments.  

Future Prospects

Successful completion of the course will enhance employment opportunities in the construction industry and will allow progression to Gateway to Trades Skills at SCQF Level 4 or NPA SCQF Level 5 craft or technology courses.
