NC Electrical Engineering

Course Content

This course offers learners a broad study of electrical engineering, which will include academic study and some practical workshop activities. Learners will be given the chance to develop and understand the fundamental electrical engineering principles allowing them to progress into further education or employment.

Entry Requirements

Progressing Students: Completion of relevant Level 5 courses - must include Maths units or equivalent and a satisfactory reference from the course team. 

 

New Applicants: Three National 5 subjects (or equivalent) at Grade C or above which must include Maths, Physics or a Technology-based subject. Industrial experience and other relevant qualifications will be considered. 

Method of Assessment

A variety of methods will be used including practical and theory-based assessments.

Future Prospects

Progression onto HNC Electrical Engineering, HNC Civil Engineering, HNC Architectural Technology or into employment within the electrical industry as an apprentice electrician.
