Course Content
You will study a range of non-fiction and quality literature, using a range of skills and techniques to help analyse and evaluate, which will prepare you to sit the National 5 English exam.
It provides flexible study options, allowing you to attend on-campus classes at Gardyne Campus one evening per week from 6 pm to 9 pm or study independently as a distance learner. Regardless of your chosen study method, you will have access to all course materials and checks to track your progress. You must be on campus for assessments, prelims and exams.

- Assessment, prelim and exam held on campus
Entry Requirements
National 4 English or equivalent. Some applicants will be required to pass a diagnostic test. Distance learning students are expected to have access to a computer with a camera, sound and headphones
Method of Assessment
- Coursework
- Spoken language unit
- Externally assessed portfolio and end exam
- A satisfactory prelim mark must be achieved in order to sit the exam
