Course Content

This course covers a variety of subjects, such as finance, statistics, numeracy, and geometry and explores where mathematics is used in everyday life.

Study options

• In-Person Classes (Recommended): Weekly evening classes at our Gardyne Campus (6-9 pm). Direct support from tutors, peer collaboration and a structured environment
• Distance Learning: Independent study with online materials. Requires strong self-discipline and motivation, with mandatory campus attendance for assessments.

Entry Requirements

A pass in National 4 Mathematics or Applications of Mathematics (or equivalent) is recommended. Applicants with other qualifications or experience may still be considered following a diagnostic test and/or interview.

Method of Assessment

Learners must undertake a prelim on campus (usually in February) and must achieve a satisfactory mark to sit the final exam.

Future Prospects

This course is accepted by most universities as a suitable maths qualification for entry into Social Work and Teaching courses. It may also be accepted for other university courses, however please check first with your chosen university.
