HND Dance Artists

Course Content

This intensive HND training course aims to develop your technical and creative skills to equip you to apply these skills in a variety of performance and choreographic projects in preparation for the dance industry. There will be opportunities to collaborate with others and to perform in our purpose-built theatre, The Space.  

Course content will reflect the ever-changing nature of dance:

  • performance opportunities
  • choreographic development
  • contemporary dance techniques
  • body conditioning
  • commercial techniques.

Entry Requirements

HNC Dance qualification or equivalent that can be mapped to our HND Dance Artist course. D&A will try to provide an HND pathway from any HNC Dance or equivalent level course. If you are changing colleges and want to continue your dance training, D&A can help. 

Method of Assessment

Assessment and performances are predominantly practically observed. Some written assessment tasks are included within units, though practical assessment is predominant.

Future Prospects

This course can lead to a wide variety of positive pathways, including the BA (Hons) Dance course at D&A, professional training at other dance schools, arts administration, further study at Masters level, and project management.
