HND Applied Biological Science (Year 2)
Course Content
A wide range of theoretical and practical aspects are covered in this course including Microbiology, Tissue Culture, DNA Molecular Techniques, Cell Biology and Protein Structure. A self-designed experimental project will also be carried out providing opportunities to develop practical and project planning skills. The theoretical knowledge accompanied by practical techniques provides a diverse learning experience preparing students for further study or employment.
Entry Requirements
Full completion of 15 credits from HNC Applied Science.
Method of Assessment
Each unit is individually assessed using a range of closed book assessments, coursework assignments and practical based techniques. An individual practical based project is also required to be carried out.
Future Prospects
Entry to third year of some university programmes as well as second year entry is available. Progression to employment in a laboratory in a technical role can also be achieved.
