HNC Cyber Security

Course Content

Cyber Security remains a pressing global concern, given the imperative of safeguarding business systems and data against relentless cyber threats and attacks. The HNC Cyber Security will provide you with a good foundation in a range of security-related disciplines to prepare you for progression to HND, University or related work within the Cyber Security Industry.  Subjects include:


·       Ethical Hacking

·       Internet of Things

·       Introduction to programming

·       Networking (Cisco)

·       Digital Forensics


Classes are timetabled to 16 hours per week over 3 days.

Entry Requirements

Four National 5 qualifications at A or B and 1 Higher in a STEM subject (C or above).

or

Foundation Apprenticeship in IT Software Development and Four National 4 qualifications at A or B

or

Progression from SCQF Level 5/6 Computing college course passing all credits and B grade achieved in Computing Project.

or

Mature applicants with relevant experience are assessed individually for suitability.

 

Completion of a strong personal statement explaining your interest in the course. You may be invited for an interview to make sure this is the right course for you. All applicants may also be asked to provide a reference.

Method of Assessment

 • Each subject has continuous assessment, which may include multiple choice quizzes, written reports, presentations, coding or forensic analysis.

 • End of Year Graded Unit Exam.

Future Prospects

Upon successful completion of this program, you can seamlessly transition to the HND programme in Cyber Security.
