Upper Intermediate English (Cambridge B2 First Exam Preparation) - Evening Class
Course Content
Work towards gaining the international Cambridge First qualification recognised by companies and universities in order to work and study in the UK or abroad.
- Interactive lessons using task-based methodology
- Extensive and in-depth language development
- Development of comprehension and productive skills for work/study purposes
- Regular assignments
- Practice using exam techniques
Lessons may be on campus at Gardyne or online (TBC).
Entry Requirements
Students required to have SQA National 4 or equivalent (B1). Applicants will attend a group information session and will be tested at interview to determine their English language level. Minimum age: normally 18, but students over 16 may be accepted if they are staying with family or a legal guardian.
Method of Assessment
Ongoing informal assessment during the course. Students may apply to take the Cambridge B2 First Examination at the end of the course. The exams are optional and the fees are paid by the students. These prices are set annually by Cambridge and are subject to change. Cambridge First - £160. Students can take the exam at a Cambridge Exam Centre, for example, Basil Paterson in Edinburgh.
Future Prospects
Depending on level gained, students may go on to higher study or further English language classes.
