Pronunciation for Speakers of Other Languages - Lower

Course Content

Do people find it difficult to understand you when you speak? Do you find it difficult to understand others?

In this course you will work on your speaking and listening skills in an interactive way in face to face lessons on campus. You will also learn new techniques for independent self-study at home so that you can continue to practise after the course. The course will focus on features of connected speech in English as well as intonation and individual sounds.

This short course is designed to improve the communication skills and confidence of students from all language backgrounds.

Entry Requirements

This course runs at 2 levels.

For English learners at pre-intermediate and intermediate levels (A2 /B1 SCQF level 3/4) please apply for the October course (Lower)

For English learners at upper-intermediate and advanced levels (B2/A1 SCQF level 5/6) please apply for the March course (Higher)

You may be eligible for a fee waiver if you claim benefits or are on a low income.
