Certificate in Electrical Installation

Course Content

This course covers a very wide range of skills and knowledge required for preparing to work in the electrical industry, including health and safety, principles of electrical science, electrical installations, installation of wiring systems, and communication within the electrical industry. This course will include a selection of electrical practical and theory-based units.

Entry Requirements

This course is suitable for applicants aged 16 years old or over. Progression from relevant Access programmes; Multi-Skilled programmes; Construction programmes; Engineering programmes or three pass grades at National 4/5 that must include Maths and a science/engineering-based subject. Applicants will also be required to attend an interview.

Method of Assessment

A variety of methods will be used including practical and theory-based assessments.

Future Prospects

Progression onto Certificate Award in Construction Technology, NC Civil Engineering, NC Electrical Engineering or into an Electrical apprenticeship.
