Course Content

Technology affects the way we live, socialise and play, and these skills are essential in today’s workplace. This course is built around subjects such as Coding, Web Development, Games Development and an introduction to Esports.

You will focus on developing a broad range of computing knowledge and skills to allow access to higher study.

The subjects in this course include:

  • Computer Games Programming
  • Web Development
  • Maths for Computing
  • Academic Skills
  • Computing Project
  • Introduction to Esports

Please note that this course has a wide subject range, not just esports.

Classes are 16 hours per week over 3 days. Class activities will include coding, research, hacking, presentations, and teamwork.

Entry Requirements

Applicants will need to be ready to study at SCQF level 6.

Method of Assessment

This course is based on continuous assessment, so subject will have its own assessment.


Methods of assessment include multiple-choice tests, coding tasks, short reports and project work.


This course includes an end of year project where students will work in groups to deliver an exciting Esports event.
