Computer Games Academy

Course Content

In collaboration with 15 games companies, we are offering a 12 week programme that offers a pathway to entry level jobs in the games industry or the opportunity for further study in games that can lead to HNC, HND and degree courses.   

The course has been designed using industry-standard software, hardware, and approaches to game development.  Students will learn the main aspects of game development, including game design, media creation, coding and development.

Our industry partners will offer workshops and deliver specialist skills. They will provide masterclasses, interview skills and the experience required to work in the games industry at entry level

Entry Requirements

Applicants will take part in a relaxed interview workshop. During the workshop, they will have an informal interview and complete tasks demonstrating their creativity and interest in game development.


As an entry level course, it is not available to graduates of Computer Games degrees.

Continuous assessment as part of the programme

Future Prospects

This course will lead to:

  • A progression course in games development at D&A College, leading to higher study and the potential to apply to a degree. 
  • A potential placement or internship with one of the Games Academy’s industry partners.
