Art and Design: Creative Portfolio Builder
Course Content
This course will prepare learners for entry into art school/university study or for their chosen career path in art. With the guidance of our friendly and expert staff you will build a strong folio of work that will develop and showcase your skills and creativity. Individual development and an understanding of contemporary Art & Design processes will underpin your visual art skills. The course includes life drawing, painting skills, printmaking, personal projects, research methods and contextual studies exploring the work of relevant artists/designers. This course is delivered until April in alignment with art school interviews/portfolio dates, with staff supporting learners through the UCAS application process.
Entry Requirements
Minimum of 2 relevant National 5/equivalent qualifications, preferred English and Art/Design. At interview, candidates should bring a portfolio of art and design work such as drawings/designs/photography. Digital portfolio submissions are also accepted. Mature candidates without formal qualifications will be considered on presentation of a portfolio. Please note candidates are advised to check specific entry requirements for their chosen university.
Method of Assessment
Continuous internal/external assessment with the focus on portfolio production and submission.
Future Prospects
Learners wishing to progress onto a degree course at university must check the entry requirements for individual institutions as they vary. Learners may also apply to other HN-level Art & Design courses at college.
