AAT Bookkeeping Level 2 (SCQF Level 6)

Course Content

Learners studying this qualification will develop practical accountancy skills in the double-entry bookkeeping system, use associated documents and processes, and understand that digital accounting systems automate some of the process's stages.

Learners will cover transactions for accuracy, make entries in appropriate books and ledgers and calculate sales invoices and credit notes.

AAT registration is required at the start of the course; exam fees and textbooks (ordered by the college and charged to the student) are not included in course fees.

Entry Requirements

AAT does not set entry requirements for this qualification; however, a good standard of English and Maths would be an advantage. Applicants with relevant work experience will be considered.

Method of Assessment

Assessed by AAT using computer-based assessments. On successful completion, learners will be awarded by the Association of Accounting Technicians.

Future Prospects

This qualification can support employment into roles such as Accounts Administrator, Clerical Assistant, Finance Assistant or Trainee Bookkeeper. It could also provide successful learners with further options for studying Accountancy to achieve additional AAT qualifications, such as the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting or the AAT Level 3 Certificate in Bookkeeping.
