Lifeskills Plus

Course Content

This course is for young people who have additional support needs and aims to support learners to take the next step either into a vocational area of Further Education, or into the world of work or volunteering. Learners will be encouraged to study independently where appropriate and will begin to focus on career management skills and real-life work-related opportunities. The timetable for this course offers learners the opportunity to build on skills developed in Lifeskills and includes essential skills; volunteering; health and well-being; independent living skills; citizenship. Learners will also be encouraged to infill into full-time vocational areas to prepare for moving forward in their studies. This course is suited to learners who would benefit from a more supportive environment.

Entry Requirements

There are no specific pre-entry requirements other than a willingness to study and to participate fully as a learner at college but applicants would normally have successfully completed Lifeskills course Year 1. Applicants should be able to work at the required level of study and at times, independently. Some practical subjects may require a level of physical ability and fitness.
