Further Education Care Experienced Bursary

The Scottish Government has committed to supporting students who have experience of being in care at any point in their lives. To be considered for the FE Care Experienced bursary you must have been subject to formal care interventions.

The FE Care Experienced Bursary is £225.00 per week with an additional amount for course materials. If you are under the age of 22 you must apply for the free bus pass from the Scottish Government. If you are age 22 or over you may receive an additional amount for travel if you live at least 2 miles from the campus you will be studying at.

You will need to provide a letter from your Social Worker to confirm that you have experienced care. If you are not sure if you are care experienced our Student Services Team can help you with this and also help with obtaining a letter from Social Work.

How to apply for a Further Education Care Experienced Bursary

Once you have accepted your conditional or unconditional place, you will receive an email advising you to apply for funding once the funding application is open. You will be able to apply online via a PC, smartphone or tablet.
