Behind the Canvas, Discover Ian Ritchie’s Creative Journey
We are proud to announce that Ian Ritchie, one of our talented Art & Design lecturers, is currently featured in the Process, Process, Process exhibition at Aberdeen Art Gallery.
Running from December 2024 to May 2025, this unique exhibition offers an intriguing behind-the-scenes look into the creative processes of 18 artists from the Aberdeen Artists Society.
Rather than showcasing finished works, Process, Process, Process shines a spotlight on the journey of creation. The exhibition features preparatory sketches, tools, and materials that reveal the techniques and inspiration behind the art. Ian’s contributions to this innovative exhibition are centred around his work, ‘Madeleine Smith’. Visitors can explore the journey behind this piece, from initial sketches and preparatory material to the tools and methods that define his artistic process.
Process, Process, Process turns the traditional exhibition format on its head by celebrating the act of creation and answering questions like ‘How did you make that?’ and ‘Where do you find inspiration?’ It is an exciting opportunity to see Ian’s work and other talented artists in a new light.
Admission is free and the exhibition is open daily, Why not visit the Aberdeen Art Gallery to experience this outstanding exhibition and learn more about the artistic journey of Ian and other artists?
