PDA Food Science
Course Content
This science-based course looks at food analysis and the composition and microbiology of food. It is an ideal course for those looking to gain some experience in the area of food science or nutrition and the award could lead to entry to an HNC Applied Science or HNC Food Science course. The PDA in Food Science was developed in partnership with employers and industry and could help anyone in the industry meet any knowledge or skills gaps to allow progression in the industry.
Entry Requirements
National 5 Biology qualification at B grade or Higher Health and Food Technology at a C grade.
Method of Assessment
Each unit will be assessed through a closed-book assessment and there will be some compulsory assessed practical work.
Future Prospects
Progression to HNC Applied Science or HNC Food Science and Technology.
