PDA Childhood Practice

Course Content

This course offers opportunities for you to enhance your professional knowledge and understanding beyond the practitioner role. This qualification is matched to the Standard for Childhood Practice 2015. This PDA would ideally suit aspiring leaders. An acceptable PVG record check is required. 

Entry Requirements

Applicants must hold a relevant registerable practitioner qualification, for example: HNC Childhood Practice/SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF level 7. Applicants should be working or have access to a placement in the childhood practice sector. Applicants will be assessed on personal statement, qualifications, experience, reference and a written exercise completed at a group information session. 

Method of Assessment

Integrated assessments in a variety of formats including reports and reflective accounts.

Future Prospects

Progression can be to the BA Childhood Practice or PDA Childhood Practice at SCQF level 9. Both qualifications meet the SSSC requirements for manager/lead practitioner.
