HND Civil Engineering (Year 2)
Course Content
This course introduces the key knowledge and skills in Civil Engineering. Learners will explore designing, constructing and operating a wide range of infrastructure projects including major structures, geology, highways and water resources. This course will ensure that learners have the technical and management capability to contribute effectively in this environment. This course will enable learners to achieve professional body recognition in particular, but not exclusively, from the Chartered Institute of Building.
This course can be studied on a flexible basis by applicants already employed in a related discipline, with approval from their employer.
Entry Requirements
HNC Civil Engineering or relevant industry experience. Each application will be considered on an individual basis, and the course programme will be tailored to suit.
Applicants whose first language is not English should have a minimum ESOL Higher level.
Method of Assessment
Submission of written reports, ongoing course assessment and a graded unit project.
Future Prospects
Further studies relating to Civil Engineering at degree level. This course has been designed to allow progression onto degree level courses through our established articulation agreements with partner universities. Civil Engineers are employed by contractors, consulting engineers or local authorities.
