HNC Civil Engineering (Year 1)

Course Content

The course is designed for those seeking a career/or progressing their careers in civil engineering design, management and maintenance of infrastructure elements such as construction of buildings, bridges, roads, railway, water and sewerage systems.

It will provide individuals with a range of practical and theoretical skills utilising modern equipment and techniques in procedures, surveying and material testing, and CAD, enabling candidates to make an immediate contribution in their role as engineering technicians. This course is undertaken on a part-time basis for employed learners.

Entry Requirements

You will need to be employed within the construction industry, entry is at the discretion of the course staff.

Method of Assessment

You will be continually assessed throughout the course on both your theoretical and practical skills. 

Future Prospects

HND in relevant subject or Year 2 or 3 of a BEng Civil Engineering.

Membership of The Institution of Civil Engineers.
