IELTS Preparation - Evening Class

Course Content

This interactive course will help you work towards gaining the IELTS qualification, internationally recognised by universities in order to study in the UK or abroad.

Task-based methodology

Extensive and in-depth language development

Development of comprehension and productive skills for study purposes

Regular assignments

Practice using exam techniques

Lessons may be on campus at Gardyne or online (TBC)

Entry Requirements

Students required to have SQA National 4 or equivalent (B1) as a minimum. Applicants will attend a group information session and will be tested at interview to determine their English language level.  Minimum age: normally 18, but students over 16 may be accepted if they are staying with family or a legal guardian. 

Method of Assessment

Ongoing informal assessment during the course. Students may apply to take the IELTS Examination at the end of the course. The exams are optional and the fees are paid by the students. The IELTS test fee is £190 and the exam can be taken in Aberdeen or Edinburgh.

Future Prospects

Depending on level gained, students may go on to higher study or further English language classes.
