Dundee & Angus College Approved as VetSkill Centre
We are excited to announce that Dundee & Angus College has officially received Centre Approval from VetSkill.
This new partnership allows us to offer recognised qualifications in animal care, such as the Diploma in Patient Care Assistance and Dog and Cat First Aid courses.
VetSkill "are thrilled to welcome Dundee and Angus College as an approved VetSkill Centre. The team at D&A have been a pleasure to work with throughout the approval process. We look forward to continuing to support the centre as they begin delivery of the VetSkill Diploma in Patient Care Assistance SCQF Level 5 and look to expand their offering of VetSkill qualifications. This will provide a fantastic opportunity for learners working within the animal care sector to boost their knowledge, skills and understanding."
The Diploma in Patient Care Assistance is a fantastic opportunity for those aspiring to work in veterinary practice as animal care assistants. This qualification not only provides essential skills in animal health and welfare but also serves as a valuable stepping stone to a career in veterinary nursing. With strong industry links, this programme offers hands-on learning and practical experience to ensure that learners are well-prepared for their future careers in the veterinary field.
Our First Aid programme, pending approval, will be available from January 2025 as evening and weekend classes and will be perfect for pet owners and professionals in grooming, pet-sitting, and rescue shelters looking to boost their skills.
Chris Ditchburn, Head of Curriculum and Quality said: “We are delighted to have received Centre Approval status from VetSkill, who have been incredibly supportive throughout the process. We are excited to be working towards the launch of the first of our two VetSkill programmes: Patient Care Assistance and shortly First Aid for Cats and Dogs, with more to come in the future.”
Stay tuned for more details as we get ready to launch these exciting new programmes!
