D&A students cut above the rest

Hair and Beauty students from Dundee and Angus College, along with lecturers: Debbie Donaldson, Dionne Davidson, Amy Yeats and Alison Brown travelled to Blackpool last week for the UK National AHT (Association of Hairdressers and Therapists) Finals. It was a successful trip for the students representing the college as they came away with two winning places.

Earlier in the year students took place in the Scottish regional level competition and came away with 12 places and the AHT Trophy.

The National finals bring all the winners from each region together to compete for the overall winner’s title.

Level 3 Hairdressing students studying at Kingsway campus; Melissa Mitchell and Felix Robertson received 1st place for their hair and makeup in the category of Total Look, with the theme Kings and Queens of the Sea. 

Callan Swankie, a Level 1 Hairdressing student studying at Arbroath campus won third in Editorial make up.
