D&A students hone their skills to raise funds for Macmillan

For many weeks our Senior Phase Professional Cookery & Hospitality students have been preparing and mastering their skills, with the help of lecturers Lesley Feighan and Debbie Robeson.

The students participated in their first event, a MacMillan Coffee Morning which took place on Friday 29th September.

Held at the Taste Restaurant in the Dundee & Angus College Arbroath campus, students, staff, and visitors enjoyed a variety of cakes and savoury items from scones to empire biscuits. The event helped the students to gain experience in money handling, preparation, customer service, time management, organisation and so many other key skills required in the industry.

Lesley Feighan, Lecturer in Hospitality and Professional Cookery comments:
“This was a great opportunity for our students to get involved in a worthwhile cause but also learn important skills that will help them progress. The students did extremely well in their first event and raised an amazing amount of money.”

The event held from 10.30am to 12pm raised an outstanding £240.82 for Macmillan charity.
