SVQ Level 3 Fabrication and Welding
Course Content
This is a work-based qualification used to assess the competence and knowledge and understanding of apprentices, technicians and employees within a variety of engineering sectors and craft areas. These craft areas include manual welding, MMA, MAG, GTAW, oxy fuel, machine welding, fabrication, sheet metal work, pipefitting and welding, thermal cutting, etc.
Entry Requirements
Applicants must be employed as either an apprentice, technician or current craftsperson within the engineering sector.
National 5 Communications is required.
Method of Assessment
Work-based observations by specialist college assessors and compilation of a portfolio of evidence.
Future Prospects
Work as a qualified and competent welder, fabricator, plater, sheet metal worker, pipefitter/welder within a wide variety of engineering sectors.
