Course Content

This course will provide learners with the opportunity to develop skills within the hospitality industry. The practical aspects of the course are facilitated in our Taste training restaurant and commercial kitchens providing a realistic learning environment. The course will include: Food and Beverage Service; Food Preparation; Health and Safety in Hospitality; Working Effectively as part of a Hospitality Team; Impact of Personal Behaviour; Maintain Food Safety in a Hospitality Environment; Costing and other specialist skills such as Barista. 

Entry Requirements

To have completed four years of secondary education with National 5 qualifications or equivalent grades, with a keen interest in hospitality. Applicants may be asked to provide a reference.

Method of Assessment

Ongoing internal continuous assessments using various methods including open-book and closed-book assessments, observations and projects.

Future Prospects

This course has been designed to meet the growing needs of the hospitality industry, allowing the learner the opportunity to go straight into employment or to progress onto Advanced Certificate in Hospitality.
