Course Content
This course covers important topics in Engineering, such as Fabrication, Welding, Maintenance, and Machining Skills. It has 12 SQA modules at SCQF level 5, including foundational subjects like Maths, Communications, ICT, Computer Aided Draughting, and Health & Safety.
This course is designed to provide the essential knowledge and skills required for a successful career in mechanical and manufacturing engineering. It's a comprehensive experience that can lead to various career opportunities and prepare you for further study.
Entry Requirements
Successful achievement of SVQ Level 2 Engineering Training course or three National 4's in Maths, English and a Technical subject.
Mature applicants without formal qualifications may be considered based on practical experience.
Method of Assessment
Assessments will be carried out within each module. Assessment will be by practical exercises, reports, closed book tests as appropriate to the outcome.
Future Prospects
This forms the NC requirement of the Modern Apprenticeship.
