HND Business (Year 2)
Course Content
This course is a progression from HNC Business which develops a greater range and depth of knowledge of core and specialist business functions from a managerial and strategic perspective. You will further develop your research, critical thinking, management and organisational skills through the analysis and evaluation of business issues and the ability to interpret and express them in an integrated and holistic manner.
Core subjects include: Managing Business Culture and Strategy, Business Law, Economics: Micro/ Macro Theory and The World Economy, Project Management: Strategy/Decision-Making and Risk, Business Statistics, Preparing Financial Forecasts, Graded Unit Project.
Entry Requirements
Successful completion of HNC Business (15 credits).
Proof of satisfactory attendance and a reference from Group Tutor may be required.
Method of Assessment
Continuous assessment, both open and closed book, including the graded unit project.
Future Prospects
Studying this course is a stepping stone to university (some universities offer direct entry in years 2/3) or enables progression to employment in intermediate/advanced level commercial, supervisory or managerial positions in business organisations.
