HND Animal Care (Year 2)

Course Content

This course builds on HNC Animal Care and explores a wider range of topics including: Microbiology, Genetics, Dog Training, Behaviour, Parasitology and Ethics. There is also a Career Planning element.

Entry Requirements

Prior completion of 15 HNC Animal Care credits. Selection will be based on performance and commitment on the HNC programme. Satisfactory references from your course tutor will be required.

External applicants: Applicants who have completed HNC Animal Care at other institutions will be considered where possible if course structures align.

Method of Assessment

This course has a mixture of written assessments, practical assessments, reports and an extensive Graded Unit Project.

Future Prospects

3rd Year entry to life science degrees at University of Aberdeen. Self-employment, animal care assistants in vet practices, degree programmes (check entry requirements) e.g. veterinary nursing, welfare & zoology.
