HND Accounting (Year 2)
Course Content
This course is designed as further study in Accounting and covers: advanced financial accounting; advanced management accounting; advanced spreadsheets; income and business taxation; auditing and law.
It provides a qualification that can be used to gain employment and/or undertake degree/professional study within Accounting. Articulation agreements exist with the University of Abertay and RGU, allowing direct entry into 3rd Year BA Accounting with Finance (full-time course).
Entry Requirements
Successful completion of 15 credits in year 1 of HNC Accounting along with a positive attitude, behaviour and commitment to the course plus satisfactory attendance. In certain circumstances a reference may be requested from the group tutor.
Method of Assessment
Learners will complete a range of SQA units that are assessed by way of continuous assessment and graded units: project and end-of-year exam.
Future Prospects
The HND provides partial exemptions from AAT Diploma in Professional Accounting and allows learners to go directly into the workplace. The HND also provides exemptions at various levels of professional exams (ACCA CIMA).
