Course Content
This course is ideal for those wishing to pursue a professional photography career. Practical by nature, you will learn and develop skills in our dedicated photography studios alongside our experienced, supportive and friendly staff. Our studios are well-equipped with lighting and photographic equipment, allowing you to explore your creativity and develop your portfolio. With a focus on your future professional career, you will develop your independence, organisation and time management skills. Throughout the course, you will work on live projects and have the opportunity to take up freelance projects. The course will help you find employment opportunities, including preparing for a freelance career.
Entry Requirements
A strong body of photographic work is required such as drawings/designs/photography. In addition a relevant Higher/equivalent qualification is required, preferred English and Art/Design or successful completion of a relevant level 6 course (and minimum 85% attendance). Mature applicants without formal qualifications will be considered on presentation of a strong portfolio. To progress to 2nd year learners must successfully complete all 1st year units and display satisfactory attendance, timekeeping and commitment.
Method of Assessment
Continuous internal/external assessment with the focus on portfolio production and submission.
Future Prospects
Successful learners can progress onto HND Photography.
