ITEC Complementary Therapies
Course Content
This course is delivered by highly experienced and qualified staff and prepares students for working in industry and becoming successful practitioners.
Within the course, you will learn practical skills and knowledge in the following areas: Aromatherapy; Carrying Out Massage; Using Essential Oils; Holistic massage; Reflexology; On-site Massage; Business Awareness & Professional Conduct; Indian Head Massage; Anatomy & Physiology and Hot Stone Therapy. Workbooks and essential equipment are necessary for participation in this course.
Entry Requirements
A minimum of three National 5s, NPA or equivalent qualification and a satisfactory reference may be required.
Applicants should demonstrate a passion for the industry and a flexible approach is required as there may be an element of evening study.
For applicants whom English is not their first language then ESOL at SCQF level 5 is required as excellent communication skills are needed.
All applicants should be 16 year or older before the start of the course.
Method of Assessment
Assessment consists of extensive case studies, practical observations, theory exams and practical examinations are assessed by ITEC. Extensive study is required.
All practical assessments are carried out on paying clients within our beauty salons.
Future Prospects
Successful completion enables students to practice as a Complementary Therapist or further their studies into Level 2 Beauty Therapy or Sports Massage.
