Advanced Certificate in Hospitality and Professional Cookery
Course Content
This course provides an opportunity for learners to choose a hospitality or professional cookery pathway in line with their career aspirations, undertaking a range of practical and theoretical units such as Barista, Mixology and Bar Service Leadership, Food and Beverage and Events. Professional Cookery will develop skills in a variety of complex dishes using a range of different techniques. The practical aspects of the course are facilitated in our Taste training restaurant and commercial kitchens providing a realistic learning environment. Learners provide a service to develop the necessary skills and knowledge required to achieve this qualification.
Entry Requirements
To have completed a full time SCQF Level 5 qualification in Hospitality and/or Professional Cookery. A keen interest in hospitality and professional cookery with a view to progressing onto HNC Hospitality Operations or HNC Professional Cookery. Applicants may be asked to provide a reference.
Method of Assessment
Internal continuous assessments using various methods including open and closed book assessments, observations and projects.
Future Prospects
This course has been designed to meet the growing needs of the hospitality industry, allowing the learner the opportunity to go straight into employment or progress into HNC Hospitality Operations or HNC in Professional Cookery.
