Gateway to Trade Skills (Building Services)
Course Content
Learners will develop various skills to enhance employability, focus, teamwork, communication, confidence, and aptitude in their chosen vocational skill area.
Find out about plumbing and electrical practices, including health and safety, principles of electrical science, electrical installation of wiring systems, hot and cold water plumbing systems, fuel systems and drainage work.
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements, although applicants need to clearly identify which of the trade skills they wish to focus on. All applicants will require a satisfactory interview, which will include a diagnostic test.
Method of Assessment
A mixture of closed-book individual assessments, reports, practical work (both individual and group) as appropriate to the module.
Future Prospects
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to progress onto a full-time course at SCQF level 4/5 in the relevant trade skill area.
